Governing Documents

Colorado Legislation

Over the last years, the Colorado legislation has regularly passed new laws governing homeowners associations (HOA). Often, these new laws require our clients to update their HOA governing documents. Many of these changes are “quick fixes.” Some of these new laws pertain to:

  • Energy-saving devices

  • Carbon monoxide detectors

  • Policies concerning procedures that govern your Board

At times, we discover while reviewing a client’s governing documents that more extensive amendments are needed. After all, some of these documents were written over 30 years ago, and the law has changed significantly since that time. Our firm has extensive experience with regard to amending your:

  • Articles of Incorporation

  • Bylaws

  • Declarations

  • Rules and Regulations
